Terms of Use

Effective: May 2, 2026

These Terms of Use set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users, as well as other necessary matters, with respect to the use of the website (hereinafter “the Site”) operated by AJU KIM CHANG LEE (hereinafter “the Firm”). By using the Site, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

01.Definitions

  • “Site” means the website operated by the Firm and its subdomains.
  • “User” means any person who accesses the Site and uses the information and services provided by the Firm pursuant to these Terms.
  • “Content” means all information (text, images, video, documents, etc.) posted on or provided through the Site.

02.Effect and Amendment of the Terms

These Terms take effect upon being posted on the Site, and the Firm may amend them to the extent permitted by applicable law. In the event of an amendment, changes will be notified at least 7 days in advance; in the case of changes unfavourable to users, at least 30 days in advance.

If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, they may cease using the Site. Continued use of the Site after the amended Terms take effect will be deemed acceptance of the changes.

03.Content and Provision of Services

The services provided by the Firm through the Site are as follows.

  • Provision of information about the Firm, its members, and practice areas
  • Provision of insights and news relating to intellectual property (IP)
  • Acceptance of recruitment applications
  • Acceptance of general inquiries about the Firm
  • Other ancillary services designated by the Firm

The Firm may alter or discontinue the provision of part or all of the Site for operational or technical reasons, and shall not be liable for any resulting damages to users unless caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

04.Hours of Availability and Service Interruptions

The Site is in principle available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, part or all of the services may be temporarily suspended in any of the following circumstances.

  1. When necessary for operational reasons such as regular system maintenance, expansion, or replacement
  2. When force majeure events such as hacking, power outages, or communication failures occur
  3. When required by applicable law or governmental order

05.Obligations of Users

Users must not engage in any of the following acts when using the Site.

  1. Misappropriation of another person’s information or entry of false information
  2. Infringement of the copyright, intellectual property rights, or other rights of the Firm or third parties
  3. Any act that interferes with the normal operation of the Site or places an undue burden on the system (including automated tools, scraping, and generation of excessive traffic)
  4. Any act contrary to public order or morality, including posting obscene, violent, or discriminatory content
  5. Any act that violates applicable law or these Terms

06.Intellectual Property

Copyright and other intellectual property rights in all Content posted on the Site (including text, images, logos, designs, videos, and source code) vest in the Firm or in duly authorised rights holders.

Users must not reproduce, transmit, publish, distribute, broadcast, or otherwise use any information obtained through the Site, or permit third parties to do so, without the prior consent of the Firm. However, citation for non-commercial personal purposes may be permitted on condition that the source is clearly attributed.

07.Disclaimer

The Firm shall not be liable for any damage caused to users or third parties by the following circumstances, unless the Firm has acted wilfully or with gross negligence.

  1. Force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, or suspension of telecommunications services
  2. Service disruption attributable to the user
  3. Damage arising from reliance on Content posted on the Site
  4. Liability for materials posted or transmitted by third parties

08.Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

The laws of the Republic of Korea shall govern the interpretation of these Terms and the use of the Site.

In the event of a dispute between the Firm and a user arising from the use of the Site, the court having jurisdiction over the Firm’s principal place of business shall serve as the court of first instance.
