Mr .Choi, after being appointed as a judge in 1986, spent 28 years in the court, contributing to the establishment of the Patent Court in Korea and being responsible for patent & trademark trials in the Seoul District Court of Korea, the Seoul High Court of Korea, and the Patent Court of Korea. His abundant experiences and expertise earned him the nickname of “the authority of intellectual property” by media. Based on his thorough knowledge and experiences in intellectual property, he wrote about 50 papers and books on the practice as well as theory of intellectual property rights, and chaired the Information Law Society of Korea and the Intellectual Property Law Research Association of Korea.
